Thank you for visiting Alpha Chi Omega at Columbia University!
Alpha Chi provides women with a home on campus and a sisterhood that lasts a lifetime. The women in our chapter are dedicated to improving the community on campus, in New York, and around the world through their commitment to service, academic excellence, and leadership. I am constantly challenged and inspired by sisters and alumnae of Alpha Chi to become a better person, inside and outside of the classroom.
I can always count on having a sister who is open to study in a library or a cafe, explore New York City, help with a homework assignment, help me practice for an interview, or just talk for hours. The friendships I have made with sisters have made the difference in my college experience, and I am certain they will last a life time. Alpha Chi gave me a home and a community on campus.
Please reach out, look around our website, and learn more about our chapter.

Our national mission statement lists four key benefits we receive at Alpha Chi. On top of a sisterhood, we aim to develop our friendship, leadership, learning, and service.
Nationally, there are over 200,000 Alpha Chis. That’s a strong network of sisters and friends to rely on. At Columbia, we kinder the friendship that forms between the 150 or so of us, into ones that will last across the world and for a lifetime.
Some notable Alpha Chis include Alyson Hannigan from HIMYM and Condoleezza Rice, the former Secretary of State. On campus, we have club executive board members, sports team captains, and non-profit founders. We support and encourage the women in our chapter to take hold of the leadership roles they deserve.
Being in Alpha Chi is not just philanthropy, sisterhood, and social events. It’s lifelong learning. We host workshops to educate our sisters about cultural diversity, healthy relationships, mental well-being, in addition to others.
Passion for our philanthropy is integral to being an Alpha Chi. Our work towards Domestic Violence Awareness and Support include partnerships with local NYC charities such as the Joyful Heart Foundation and Womankind.
